Flagship course
Segment Signal Lab
A six-week, part-time programme in business analytics for customer segmentation strategy. You leave with a scored sample, a written brief, and a defence you have already rehearsed with peers.
Learning outcomes
- Design transparent RFMS and behavioural scores with documented exclusions.
- Detect seasonality and channel bias before you declare a segment “loyal”.
- Run a simple holdout and interpret whether lift is real or contaminated.
- Write a one-page segment brief with activation rules and retirement criteria.
- Present and defend the model to a sceptical peer panel.
Modules
- 01
Decision inventory
Map which campaigns, offers, and service rules your taxonomy is supposed to feed — and which ones it currently fails.
- 02
Score construction
Rebuild recency, frequency, monetary, and engagement flags with weights you can explain without a slide full of Greek letters.
- 03
Seasonality & bias
Stress-test clusters against calendar spikes, acquisition channel mix, and product launches.
- 04
Holdouts that tell the truth
Design a practical holdout, read the results, and document limitations honestly.
- 05
The segment brief
Translate clusters into activation language: who, why, when, and when to stop.
- 06
Defence & maintenance
Peer critique, refresh cadence, and a retirement checklist so the model does not quietly rot.

FAQ
Do I need advanced machine learning experience?
No. Comfort with spreadsheets or basic SQL is enough. We focus on interpretable scores and decision quality, not black-box clustering competitions.
Can I use my company’s data?
Yes, if you can bring a scrubbed extract. Many learners prefer our anonymised retail and subscription datasets for the scored sample, then apply the method internally afterwards.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not cover real-time personalisation engineering or CDP vendor configuration. If your bottleneck is pipeline infrastructure rather than segmentation logic, you will need a different specialist — we will say so on the fit call.
How are live sessions scheduled?
Weekly workshops run in UK evening slots to fit day jobs. Recordings are available for two weeks after each session, but peer defence weeks require live attendance.
